BREAKFAST
Pear and Walnut Porridge
1 Serving

Why It's Kidney Friendly
Pears are naturally low in potassium, and using water or almond milk makes this porridge an excellent kidney-friendly breakfast option.
Ingredients
1/2 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of water or unsweetened almond milk
1 ripe pear, diced
1/4 cup of walnuts, chopped
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
Directions
In a saucepan, bring water or almond milk to a boil. Add oats and reduce heat to simmer.
Cook until oats are soft, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in diced pear and cinnamon, cooking for another 2 minutes.
Serve topped with chopped walnuts.
