BREAKFAST
Holiday Orange Spice Scones
6 to 8 Scones
Why It's Kidney Friendly
These scones use almond flour to keep phosphorus low, and citrus adds bright flavor, making them a festive, kidney-friendly breakfast.
Ingredients
1 cup of almond flour
1/4 cup of orange juice
1/4 cup of honey
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix almond flour, orange juice, honey, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda until smooth.
Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown.
Let cool before serving.
